About this route
A 45 km one-way self-drive 4x4 trail through the remote western sections of Addo Elephant National Park, from the Kabouga area near Kirkwood to Darlington Dam, taking about six hours. The route follows a historic Anglo-Boer War path through riverine thicket, forest, fynbos and Nama-Karoo, with rock art sites en route and black rhino and hippo present. Accommodation at both ends.
